To mark Arsenal’s final year at Highbury in 2006, Nike released a kit that paid homage to the original 1913 design. The idea was to recreate that iconic 1913 team photo with the current squad, but with a playful twist. We worked with Doug Fisher to shoot the campaign, adding retro colour retouching and a bit of humour to give it some personality.
We handled everything from concept to execution—art directing the shoot, retouching the images, and even creating collectable items. The campaign came to life in NikeTown with a gallery-style installation, featuring museum-style frames that made the photos look aged and classic. We rolled this out across Arsenal club stores and retailers nationwide.
A standout moment was photographing the entire first team, along with the coach and key management staff, all in the new Nike kit. It was a huge deal in sports sponsorship, especially considering Arsenal’s move to the Emirates Stadium was such a pivotal moment in the club’s history. The commemorative kit became a must-have collector’s item, cementing its place in football history as more than just a kit—it was a symbol of Arsenal’s legacy.
